Sanibel Island – Morning Exuberance
Sanibel Island, Florida, USA – 2013
Positivity…and a lot of shots of cool creatures in my hand! My arrival in Florida was a real boost for morale; I met a lot of animal friends and even swallowed some salty liquid that sprayed all over my face.

This glowing ball rises and falls each day. When it comes up or goes down over water, people feel especially compelled to take photographs. In this image I try to relate to other humans by doing what they do.

These are my travelin’ feet–I take them everywhere, no exception. Ant bites, scrapes, hangnails and peeling skin. Scars are souvenirs you never lose.

Tranquility greets my spirit while gazing at this shell. I would’ve written a poem but I hate poetry.

A sea star moves around on my hand and transfers its kinetic energy, motivating me to squirm because I feel creeped out.

Early morning snowbirds surf the beach in their own special way while looking for premium shells which will not be suitable homes for their ever-approaching afterlife.

A creature with a sea-based office commutes to work. He is generally content with life though his job is tedious and unfulfilling.

One of the many types of crabs I found at the beach. This one looked the scariest but once you picked him up he was harmless. Fear is all in your mind. Push through it and you just might be rewarded with a cool crab on your hand.

My brother Andrew calls the police on me because he’s mad I keep stealing all the cute girls from him. The police just laughed at him; that is not even a crime.

The most interesting man in the world is spotted by a commercial van modified for travel. Here he is seen with his hands in back pockets while he casually flirts with a retired New Yorker.

Lots of birds. People often like to take pictures of birds but not me, I’m just trying to fake being a retired guy with too much time and money until I make it.

This bird was a shy loner. He refused to talk and just sat there with his Cyrano beak, looking awkward but attracting lots of female attention.

Walking the Bailey Tract on Sanibel Island I encountered some unique wildlife–an invasive species of French tourists!

My first capture in Florida. I released this lil one after taking a few reference shots.

Are you kidding?! I wouldn’t even feed an alligator legally!
