Sitting on the plane from Dallas to San Francisco, the first of three flights of the journey from the Dallas to Bangkok, I wasn’t really tired but I fell asleep for a few hours after getting restless while reading. Every so often gravity started anchoring my head down and as it fell I would wake up in a rush before I drifted off. The pilot announced we were about to cross the Sierra Nevadas and then begin our descent. As we passed, all I could see below were snowy mountains, haze and a few tiny frozen lakes. It was peaceful and treacherous. The camera is in the overhead bin about 10 seats in front of me because somehow all of the back cabin bins filled up before Andrew and I even boarded the plane.
